Hybrid AC/DC Provisional Microgrid Planning Model Considering Converter Aging

Renewable energy deployment through distributed resources is among the central goals of future power systems. Microgrids have proven to be an economically viable solution for resources’ integration into system and benefits customers with uninterrupted supply. In this context, provisional microgrids been introduced main goal rapid renewable resource deployment. Since a considerable portion resources, as well residential loads, are DC, expected grow even further, hybrid AC/DC design can improve both efficiency economic benefit optimal arrangement feeders converters. This paper presents planning model considering long-term influence storage aging process converters on revenues. Due several intrinsic uncertainties involved in microgrid operation, robust optimization applied problem ensure optimality under worst-case conditions. Results show compared independent microgrid. Several sensitivity analyses carried out identify critical factors planning.
